            一、引言

            寫(xiě)作一直是中學(xué)階段英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的重頭戲,同時(shí)也是問(wèn)題存在比較多的地方。通過(guò)近幾年高中英語(yǔ)寫(xiě)作課的課堂教學(xué)實(shí)踐,并結(jié)合高中學(xué)生在英語(yǔ)寫(xiě)作中所表現(xiàn)出的問(wèn)題,我發(fā)現(xiàn)將過(guò)程教學(xué)法應(yīng)用于寫(xiě)作指導(dǎo)中的效果更明顯,尤其是應(yīng)用于寫(xiě)前準(zhǔn)備階段,更有利于培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的寫(xiě)作興趣、參與意識(shí)和合作意識(shí)。

            過(guò)程教學(xué)法將寫(xiě)作大致分為三個(gè)階段:寫(xiě)前階段、寫(xiě)作階段和文章修改。這三個(gè)階段是一個(gè)循環(huán)的過(guò)程,教師的反饋和指導(dǎo)一直貫穿其中,學(xué)生則應(yīng)當(dāng)不斷地閱讀自己的文章,結(jié)合教師的意見(jiàn)對(duì)文章進(jìn)行修改。

            俗話(huà)說(shuō),“萬(wàn)事開(kāi)頭難”,寫(xiě)作也是這樣的。寫(xiě)前階段作為寫(xiě)作的初始階段,對(duì)后面的整個(gè)過(guò)程起著至關(guān)重要的作用。在這個(gè)階段中學(xué)生應(yīng)當(dāng)考慮三個(gè)方面的問(wèn)題:寫(xiě)作的主題、寫(xiě)作的目的以及文章的讀者。寫(xiě)前階段的準(zhǔn)備工作可以給學(xué)生提供充分的思考,讓學(xué)生做到胸有成竹,動(dòng)筆寫(xiě)的時(shí)候就會(huì)文思泉涌。

            二、教學(xué)案例分析

            下面這個(gè)教學(xué)案例是實(shí)踐中的一部分,這個(gè)案例中寫(xiě)前階段的信息輸入是選取了brainstorming這種形式。

            (一)寫(xiě)作話(huà)題的選取

            為了更好的貼近學(xué)生的生活,我選取了一個(gè)與學(xué)生息息相關(guān)的一個(gè)話(huà)題:Living in Big Cities(居住在大城市)。上海是一個(gè)國(guó)際型大都市,學(xué)生們就生活在這樣一個(gè)氛圍中,對(duì)這個(gè)話(huà)題很熟悉。這堂課主要采取的是小組討論發(fā)言的形式,將全班同學(xué)每四人分為一個(gè)小組,讓每個(gè)小組先內(nèi)部討論然后再發(fā)言。

           。ǘ┮龑(dǎo)性問(wèn)題的提出

            開(kāi)始的時(shí)候同學(xué)們并不太活躍,思路并沒(méi)有打開(kāi)。筆者考慮到可能有些學(xué)生的思維不夠開(kāi)闊,于是就在請(qǐng)學(xué)生發(fā)言之前提出了一些引導(dǎo)性的問(wèn)題:

            Do you like living in Shanghai?

            Have you ever been living in small cities or countryside?

            Can you give me your reasons why you like or why you don’t like living in Shanghai?

            Which part of Shanghai do you like best?

            Do you think it is easy to live in big cities?

            When you grow up, where do you want to live, if possible?

            (三)Brainstorming

            我每提出一個(gè)問(wèn)題會(huì)給大家?guī)酌腌姷臅r(shí)間思考,這些問(wèn)題果然起到了拋磚引玉的作用,學(xué)生們開(kāi)始變得活躍起來(lái)。接下來(lái)是brainstorming時(shí)間,我要求學(xué)生大膽地把跳入自己腦海的關(guān)鍵詞或者是短語(yǔ)說(shuō)出來(lái),不必考慮語(yǔ)法問(wèn)題,也不必為發(fā)音不準(zhǔn)確而難為情。學(xué)生的思維是活躍的,最有創(chuàng)造性的。以下是學(xué)生們考慮到的因素:

            Housing—housing estates, flats, suburbs, gardens, skyscrapers, high cost for housing

            Working—office, factory, or industry, joint venture, white collar, employer, employee

            Shopping—big shops, Huaihai Road, fashionable clothes

            Leisure—sports, coffee bars, cinema, theatre, music concert, clubs, colorful lights

            Eating—traditional Shanghai restaurants, snacks, fast food, pubs Weather—cold and rainy in winter, hot and breathless in summer

            Environment—traffic jams, noise, pollution, good education, subway, highway network, overpopulation, fierce competitions

           。ㄋ模⿲(duì)素材的選擇與整理

            學(xué)生在寫(xiě)作過(guò)程中的障礙更重要的是由于思路不暢導(dǎo)致的。這制約了學(xué)生語(yǔ)言能力的正常發(fā)揮,也使英語(yǔ)寫(xiě)作教學(xué)舉步維艱。有了brainstorming的這些素材,可以初步打消學(xué)生的畏難情緒,接下來(lái)要做的就是把這些素材進(jìn)行選擇和整理。

            面對(duì)這么多的關(guān)鍵詞,有些學(xué)生又犯難了:怎么樣選取呢?哪些應(yīng)當(dāng)被歸納入習(xí)作中,哪些應(yīng)當(dāng)詳寫(xiě),哪些應(yīng)當(dāng)一筆帶過(guò)?于是我引導(dǎo)學(xué)生自己思考,給每個(gè)小組五分鐘考慮,之后每個(gè)小組表達(dá)自己的觀(guān)點(diǎn)。我在課上歸納之后發(fā)現(xiàn)大部分同學(xué)還是贊成分成兩大部分:生活在大城市的優(yōu)勢(shì)(advantages)和劣勢(shì)(disadvantages)來(lái)考慮。在這個(gè)階段要求學(xué)生不僅僅是說(shuō)一些關(guān)鍵詞,而是短語(yǔ)或者是簡(jiǎn)單成句。

            Advantages:

            在我的引導(dǎo)下,學(xué)生們積極發(fā)言,說(shuō)出了自己對(duì)上海這個(gè)城市的看法。由于題目要求是對(duì)大城市的看法,于是我要求學(xué)生們將上海與其他一些大城市的共性抽象出來(lái),作為備選的素材。之后進(jìn)行小組討論,要求大家把自己列出來(lái)的居住在大城市的優(yōu)勢(shì)和劣勢(shì)進(jìn)一步擴(kuò)展,最好是能舉出一些實(shí)際的例子,以增強(qiáng)說(shuō)服力。我一直認(rèn)為給學(xué)生一些時(shí)間進(jìn)行課堂討論是大有裨益的,不僅可以使盡可能多的學(xué)生投入到課堂中來(lái),鼓勵(lì)他們發(fā)表自己的觀(guān)點(diǎn),還對(duì)他們的口頭表達(dá)能起到一定的訓(xùn)練作用,同時(shí)小組自己的合作意識(shí)也會(huì)得到極大的開(kāi)發(fā)。在小組充分討論之后發(fā)現(xiàn),全班同學(xué)的觀(guān)點(diǎn)可以分成三部分:持贊成生活在大城市觀(guān)點(diǎn)的同學(xué)、持反對(duì)態(tài)度的同學(xué)、持中間態(tài)度的同學(xué)。這樣的討論中教師一定要在教室中走動(dòng),密切關(guān)注各個(gè)小組的討論進(jìn)程,適時(shí)得提供一些詞匯幫助。

           。⿲(duì)全文框架的掌握

            不少學(xué)生往往在動(dòng)筆之前缺乏對(duì)文章整體框架的理解,常常是只見(jiàn)樹(shù)木不見(jiàn)森林,寫(xiě)了上句沒(méi)下句。這樣的片段性思維使最后的成文看起來(lái)不那么連貫,結(jié)構(gòu)也不夠井然有序。作為一篇議論文,我要求學(xué)生在行文的第一段就要表明自己的觀(guān)點(diǎn)。由于母語(yǔ)的影響,很多學(xué)生寫(xiě)英語(yǔ)作文的時(shí)候不是開(kāi)門(mén)見(jiàn)山,而是曲徑通幽型。這是東西方文化的差異所致,中文講究的是形散神聚,而英語(yǔ)則要求神聚形也聚。接下來(lái)的行文中,盡量用topic sentence來(lái)表明本段的思想,選取上述的優(yōu)勢(shì)或者劣勢(shì)中有代表性和自己熟悉的兩到三點(diǎn)進(jìn)行詳細(xì)闡述。在文章結(jié)束的時(shí)候要用一兩句精煉的話(huà)來(lái)總結(jié)整篇文章的主旨。

            然后要求每個(gè)學(xué)生花五分鐘的時(shí)間把他們要寫(xiě)的文章的框架勾勒出來(lái),然后再動(dòng)筆往下寫(xiě)。

            以下是一名學(xué)生當(dāng)堂寫(xiě)的outline:

            有了這些寫(xiě)前階段的準(zhǔn)備,接下來(lái)的寫(xiě)作階段將不再是讓學(xué)生們頭疼的問(wèn)題了。出于課堂節(jié)奏的安排,我并沒(méi)有將寫(xiě)作成文的整個(gè)過(guò)程放在課堂上進(jìn)行,而是將主要精力放在寫(xiě)前階段的啟發(fā)學(xué)生思維上面。當(dāng)學(xué)生交上初稿之后,我對(duì)文章進(jìn)行了細(xì)致的批改,然后把文章返還下去,要求大家根據(jù)教師的批改進(jìn)行文章的修改。修改本身就是提高作文質(zhì)量的有效環(huán)節(jié),在修改作文的過(guò)程當(dāng)中,有些學(xué)生會(huì)有新的.思路,他們自身的語(yǔ)言知識(shí)得以鞏固,寫(xiě)作技能也在逐步上升。鑒于學(xué)生的好勝心,我還將一些優(yōu)秀作文張貼出來(lái),以便大家能夠互相學(xué)習(xí)。

            三、對(duì)教學(xué)的啟示

            我在教學(xué)中盡量給出多種題材,讓學(xué)生有機(jī)會(huì)接觸到不同類(lèi)型的話(huà)題,而在寫(xiě)前階段的訓(xùn)練中除了常用的Brainstorming之外也會(huì)采用job list、free writing、圖片激發(fā)、背景知識(shí)輸入等形式來(lái)激發(fā)學(xué)生的想象力。通過(guò)課后與一些學(xué)生的談話(huà),我發(fā)現(xiàn),大部分學(xué)生開(kāi)始時(shí)對(duì)這樣的課有一定的排斥,不太積極表達(dá)自己的觀(guān)點(diǎn),但在經(jīng)過(guò)三至四次課之后就會(huì)變得活躍起來(lái),他們認(rèn)為教師對(duì)他們思維的開(kāi)拓是寫(xiě)作的至關(guān)重要的一步。

            當(dāng)然寫(xiě)作水平的提高不是立竿見(jiàn)影的,它需要持之以恒的訓(xùn)練和練習(xí),不僅需要教師課前精心準(zhǔn)備寫(xiě)作話(huà)題,也需要學(xué)生的配合。因此,教師在教學(xué)的過(guò)程中應(yīng)當(dāng)不斷提醒學(xué)生英語(yǔ)寫(xiě)作的重要性,并且要將寫(xiě)作的三個(gè)過(guò)程融為一體。在學(xué)生構(gòu)思完成習(xí)作的基本框架之后,教師應(yīng)當(dāng)及時(shí)向?qū)W生傳授寫(xiě)作技巧,并提供一些可能會(huì)用到的基本句型、短語(yǔ)和習(xí)慣表達(dá)方法,供學(xué)生參考。
