　　A Regretful Thing

　　In the past three years, the life of middle school has impressed me deeply. Many stories happened. The following is one of them.

　　Xiao Ming was one of my good friends. One day, a little thing caused a serious quarrel between us. From then on, we didn’t talk to each other. I had hoped to make peace with him but I finally failed to do that because of my being afraid of losing face. Not until he moved to another city with his parents did I know I lost my friend forever.

　　The lesson I learned from this is that if you realize your mistakes, you should correct them at once, or you may leave yourself lasting regrets.

　　一件后悔的事

　　過去三年的初中生活，發(fā)生了許許多多的故事，給我留下了深刻的印象，下面這件事就是其中的一件。

　　小明是我的一位好朋友。有一天，因為一件很小的事情，我們發(fā)生了爭吵。從那以后，我們彼此都不再說話。我曾想過和他重歸于好，但是礙于情面最終還是不了了之。直到他和他的`父母搬去另外一個城市，我才意識到我永遠(yuǎn)地失去了一個好朋友。

　　從這件事情中，我懂得了一個道理：如果你認(rèn)識到了自己的錯誤，就應(yīng)當(dāng)馬上改正過來，否則你可能會永遠(yuǎn)活在后悔當(dāng)中。

Its found that while some people may indeed become more hard-nosed through adversity, the majority become less trusting of their own judgment. It surprisingly found that early negative experiences make people stronger in late life. Furthermore, the people who had experienced an adverse childhood and adolescence were more likely to come to believe information that is not true. Those people were more suggestible, and easily misled which in turn could affect their future.

　　首先，經(jīng)歷過困難生活的人很容易被誤導(dǎo)，有發(fā)現(xiàn)表明雖然有些人通過不幸變得更加頑強(qiáng)，但是更多的人變得很少相信他們自己的判斷。更讓人吃驚的是，他們先前消極的經(jīng)歷使他們在以后的.生活中更強(qiáng)大。更有甚者，經(jīng)歷過不幸童年的人在青春期會更可能相信不真實的信息。這些人更容易受影響，更容易被誤導(dǎo)，到頭來會影響他們的未來。

Perseverance offers no guarantees either, but I believe that this trait offers one more opportunity to succeed.

　　There are several reasons why perseverance often leads to success. First of all, a man who has perseverance does not give up after a failure. He tries again and can, therefore, learn from his mistakes. Second, a persistent person is usually a hard worker, and hard work is an important ingredient in success. Last, with perseverance comes a certain amount of confidence — the confidence that one will eventually succeed.

　　For all of these reasons, I believe that perseverance is the most important characteristic to have. It is easily combined with other traits such as diligence and confidence to increase the chances of success. However, without perseverance, one’s success may be more dependent on luck than anything else.

　　In Tianjin,there are many buildings of bygone times.Some of them are imposing and have great artistic and historic value.However,these buildings do mot fit in well with each other,because most of them were built by foreigners in different times.The traffic in the city is not very convenient.The street are usually narrow and twisted.If the government wanted to have them widened,a large number of buildings would have to be pulled down.Some buildings are too old and are nothing more than cottages,and in place of them,some new high buildings have been set up.However,the new ones are still few and in many places they seem quite out of place.

　　Yet those Western-style buildings give Tianjin a different characteristic from other cities and those new ones lend the city fresh vitality which will spread rapidly with the reform going on.
